You never forwarded those chain messages in 2008. JK 🙂
If you’ve ever been single on Valentine’s day, it basically sucks.
The fact that there is even a nickname of “Single Awareness Day” is stupid.
At the same time, the pressure is real.
Anyone and everyone has to ask about your plans.
If you say you are having a “Galentine’s day” there might be jokes about hating men.
If you stay home alone, someone might criticize that you should go out and do something to feel better.
If you are dating someone new, you have to weirdly talk about whether or not you will do something together or get each other presents.
Even once you are in a relationship, it can be hard to actual communicate about what you want and plans because it is all so awkward.
Here’s the best advice we can give you if you are single on Valentine’s day…
DO YOU BOO.
Don’t give into the hype.
Don’t even dare to go out with friends and manage the crowds and couples.
If anyone gives you a hard time, give them the finger.
Stay in, watch a hilarious movie, drink a great bottle of wine, and eat some decadent chocolate.
You can fight this love battle another day.
Rooting for you,
